Question

I live on the sea...I know, I know - lovely, but it makes baking certain things virtually impossible. Because of the constant humidity in the air, I simply cannot seem to make bread. I'm a newbie, but have a desire to be able to make fresh and EASY bread. I don't like the breadmaker, although I have one - so can anyone help with a good white/french bread recipe that doesn't need to rise???

A: It isn't a recipe for french bread but how about "Beer Bread" it uses 3 1/2 cups flour (white or whole wheat) 1/3cup sugar and one can of room temp. beer. Mix all together by hand and bake in greased load bread pan for 40-50 min. 350 degree oven. You also can add cheese, herbs to batter before baking as a variation.

A: You could always try one of the slow-rise breads that can rise in your refrigerator (where it is less affected by the local atmosphere!). Fleischmann's Yeast has taken some favorites from author Nancy Baggett's "Kneadlessly Simple" cookbook—including several slow-rise breads.     Q. Every Thanksgiving we would have a cauliflower and pimento cheese cassarole. I just love it but, somewhere the recipe got lost. Anybody ever had this and knows a good recipe?
