Let me start by saying that I love the note from DessertDuchess on starting a group of North Carolina cooks.  It got me thinking: Wouldn't it be great to have a group from each of the 50 states?!

And so now, I've been thinking that there are a lot of wonderful cooks here in New York State, and  we should have a group to let people know it!  So how about it, all of you New Yorkers?   We are apple country, wine country, maple country, dairy country, etc, etc, etc., and we have apple recipes, maple recipes, dairy recipes, wine recipes...all that and so much more!  The melting-pot that is New York state covers dozens of ethnic backgrounds that are as diverse as they come, and we've got the recipes to prove it!

So come on, all of you New York chefs........  let's show what New York cooking is all about!  Please join my new group, "NEW YORK STATE OF COOKING!"

Thanks, DessertDuchess, for the inspiration!  I hope all of the other states get inspired, too!

Confectionately,

Dorothy.

Hi.. would love to join this group of NY cookers/bakers.  I was born and raised in the Bronx.  Left NYC and have been living the past 29 yrs in st. law county.  That is way upstate NY.  We have a farm, where I raise my own chickens, beef and garden.

I lived on Long Island for a year and spent much of that year traveling the island and Manhattan to eat to my hearts content.  I love New York, even though I'm a Pennsylvanian.  I work in PA but the corporate and sales office is based in New York City, and every couple years we make a company cookbook filled with foods from many ethnic backgrounds.  My cousin is also a photographer in the city and lives in Brooklyn, so I guess I qualify!
