Hey everyone! My husband and I are going to NYC for Thanksgiving this year! Yay for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Anyways, we're looking for a great thanksgiving dinner, not too expensive, and would love some suggestions. We are big fans of Bobby Flay, and have been to Mesa Grill. His other restaurant, Bar Americain is having a 3 course pre-fixe menu for $75. Most restaurants that are open are doing a pre-fixe menu with several courses. Rock Center Cafe is also have a pre-fixe menu for $58.

We need some advice!!! There are SO many to choose from!!!!!

Well, I sent a reply to Rosepat, but it didn't post. Sorry if I offended. I have also lived in Fl for over 20 yrs (now in Ohio) and I preferred NY too, but the crowds are intense at the parade and there are always reports of pickpockets. I just thought new visitors should be careful, but have a wonderful time. What area in Fl are you living? :) Sheila

Hi Rosepat, I miss the city too. Where in Fl (area) do you live? I lived there for over 20 yrs. I still go to Rockefeller Center too. But I do know that the parade area gets very crowded, with people on top of one another...so it's good for non NYers to be careful. The village had to have been a great place to grow up. I have a cousin who grew up there, still lives there and would never live elsewhere. I hope what I said was not offensive to you. Sheila :)

No ideas, Sheila but I just wanted to share that I grew up in Greenwich Village and loved every minute of it.  I now live in Florida.  Don't really care for it because I miss the City very much.  I go there every Christmas Holiday and go in to Rockefeller Center; it's great!

Erin -- I'm not sure where you're staying, but we just had a great meal last night at Penelope's in Murray Hill. It reminded me of how much fun I had a brunch there a year or two ago. It's casual but very cute. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the place for brunch.

Oooh...I forgot about Craft Bar. That would be lovely, too. I recently ate at Daniel for our 10th wedding anniversary...a truly exceptional meal, but very, very $$$$.

How fun, you'll be in my city! I agree with BusyBaker; Bobby Flay over Rock Center Cafe for sure. I think you should also check out Tom Colicchio's Craft Bar  -- it's hard to beat. Have a wonderful trip!

If you're planning on going to the parade, be careful of pick-pockets, and go very early! Enjoy! I miss NY, grew up there...sigh!
