Hello, All!

I am a real apron person.  I always wear an apron when I cook, and I have about 9 or 10 of them.  I was thinking that maybe I'm not the only apron person on this site, and that some others might also like to wear them.

And sooooo..........I was wondering if anybody out there would be interested in doing an apron exchange?  I'd love to set one up if there was any interest out there.  I could collect the names of anyone who wanted to participate, then pick names to pair people up to exchange aprons with.   There could be a price limit, so there wouldn't be any pressure to get the "grandest apron in all the land"!

Of course, I would first need to know if something like this would be permitted on this site.  So all of you editors reading this, is something like this allowed?

If you're interested, please respond to this message, and if there are no objections, we'll do an exchange!  I look forward to seeing who would like to join the fun!

~~~~ I NEED TO SAY THAT THIS EXCHANGE IS NOW OFFICIALLY CLOSED TO ANY NEW NAMES.  I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SHOWN AN INTEREST IN THIS LITTLE PROJECT, WHO ARE IN ON THE EXCHANGE, AND WHO HAVE SAID SUCH NICE THINGS ABOUT THIS IDEA!  IF THERE IS ANOTHER APRON EXCHANGE IN THE FUTURE, ALL ARE WELCOME TO PLEASE COME BACK AND JOIN US AGAIN, OR TO JOIN US FOR THE FIRST TIME!    HAVE A GREAT DAY, AND PLAY NICE IN THE KITCHEN!     ~~~~
Confectionately,
Dorothy
Did you determine how many people you needed to sign up before you started the exchange?
Really, the way I started it is the original post up above.  It was just that simple!  Then people who were interested signed up on the post. I kept a list of everyone.  I set a cut off date, and when it came around, I paired everyone up and posted that list.  Then everyone had to personally contact their apron mates for name, address, preferences, etc.  The rules were simple: $25.00 price limit, only new aprons, nothing plastic, obscene or nasty should be sent to apron mates.  For more detailed instructions, read through this post, starting on the highest page number (that would be the beginning), and look for the colorful highlighted entries:  those are mine, and you'll find a lot of information there.  A lot of it was repeated over the course of the post, to help everyone stay on track.  But a lot of new info was added along the way.  Hope this all helps!
I see after reading some of the back posts that the apron does NOT have to be hand made. Maybe we could get a CHRISTMAS APRON exchange going ... I wrote the person who did the first one and asked her how to start it.
I would love to do one but I am not sure how to start it. Maybe the person who did the other one will post instructions.
