Ellie Krieger is one of the most popular celebrity chefs from the Food Network.  She specializes in making our favorite foods healthier.  Most people would assume there is no way to make, of all things, French Fries healthy but Ellie showed me how!

She represents the new product, ActiFry, from T-fal.  With this new and innovative appliance you can cook delicious French fries with 3 times less fat than oven cooked fries.  You only need 1 tablespoon of oil for 2 pounds of delicious French fries.

The appliance constantly stirs and turns the fries as they become crispy.  Ellie was making samples for the crowd and the taste and texture were perfect!  My first thought was that they tasted like McDonald's fries - without the guilt :)

I would make these fries into a complete meal with her recipes.  I think the fries would taste great with these Crispy Chicken Fingers with Honey-Mustard Sauce.

How about chocolate without the guilt!  Her recipe for Triple Chocolate Cookies would make a great dessert.

My husband had seen a similar cooker on YouTube but it wasn't being marketed here yet.  He went on & looked for this appliance & it's not yet available either.  If they ever get around to release one for sale, I hope we can get our hands on it.

wow I want one! I doubt I will drop 300 for it any time soon but I'm sure within a year the technology will get out more and it should get cheaper right?....I hope at least it does.

That's the tough part!  The ActiFry will retail for $299.  Let's hope for some good coupons maybe :)

Mmmm... sounds good. I bet we could also make sweet potato fries. Supposedly, they're better for diabetics I try to make better stuff like that for my Hubbie.

I can't wait for this product to become available! How cool it will be to be able to eat good tasting fries without all the calories and cholesterol of deep fried french fries.

The ActiFry is not available in the US just yet.  Right now it is just available in Europe where it is a big hit!  (Why does all the cool stuff go to Europe first?!)  The representatiaves from the company said it would hit the US market by this summer.  Keep your eyes peeled!
