great on dogs and burgers

 

Servings:         6 to 8

Prep time:       5 minutes

Cook time:      20 minutes

Total time:       25 minutes

 

Ingredients:

2 tablespoon olive oil
½ red onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 pound ground turkey
2 tablespoon thyme
2 tablespoon cumin
2 tablespoon Hungarian paprika
2 tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon liquid smoke
½ 28 oz can San Marzano diced tomatoes
1 cup salsa
1 cup Manchego cheese, shredded
1 cup parmigiano reggiano, shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
3 tablespoon San Marzano tomato paste

 

Directions:

In a large skillet at medium high heat, add oil. Add onion and cook for about 1 minute. Add garlic to skillet and cook for another minute. Add turkey, thyme, cumin, paprika, chili powder, liquid smoke and cook until meat is starting to brown. Add diced tomatoes and salsa. Cook mixture for about 5 minutes at medium heat. Stir in cheeses and tomato paste. Cook for another 5 minutes. Take off heat and let set for 5 minutes. Serve on hot dogs, sausages, burgers, rice, pasta and buttered bread.
