Chili without heat (but still has some kick)

 

Servings:         6

Prep time:       15 minutes

Cook time:      As long as you want

Total time:       As long as it needs

 

Ingredients:

2 handfuls of chopped turkey
1 can of fat-free refried beans
1 can of pinto beans
1 can of black beans
2 cans of tomato sauce
1 can of V8 juice
2 tablespoons ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 or 2 teaspoons of mace
1 teaspoon mild chili powder
1/2 chopped onion
1 handful chopped up tomatoes
4 pieces of extra-dark chocolate

 

Directions:

Throw it in a slow-cooker and let it simmer for a few hours.

Sounds great.  With the addition of the dark chocolate this has a mole' twist to it.

Hmmm - so much different than my family recipe - except for the refried beans... oh well - I guess that's the younger generation for you.  I am having a hard time "tasting" the pumpkin pie spices in my head for chili!
